Baby Shower Themes and Gifts
Fun baby
shower themes and gift ideas to use for your next baby shower party.

Finding out
your pregnant is the best news of all after falling in love and getting
married, but for first time expecting mothers, it can be
a difficult task to search and look for all the right baby
things and equipment.
Moms-to-be
need to make a list of all the things the baby will need at the soonest
possible time so that little by little, each item can purchased and set
aside until the "big day." However, a fun and traditional way
to to fulfill this task is to have a baby shower.
Normally the
mother-to-be will make a list of what she needs by registering at a
local
store baby registration center. This way guests who are going
to attend can purchase a gift and know for sure that someone else
hasn't purchased the same thing.
Usually a friend or family member gives the shower. It is
usually built around a theme that will guide the
focus of the baby shower. There are several ways to choose and
decide upon a theme.
Choosing
Your Baby Shower Theme:
Base The Theme Upon Color:
If the mother-to-be has made the gender of the baby known,
pink or blue
is used to universally represent a baby girl or a baby boy. Pastel
yellow or green works as a great generic color theme if the sex of the
baby is not known.
Baby Item Theme:
Baby
items such as pacifiers, baby bottles, rubber duckies, baby
toys, etc, make very cute party themes.
Character Themes:
Sesame Street, Power Puff Girls, Dexter's
Laboratory, Looney Tunes, Dora and Sponge Bob to name just a
few.
Time-Of-Day Theme:
This is a unique theme where each guest brings what
the baby would need or would use during a specific time of the
day that they are given in their invitation.

Ending The Baby Shower:
The mother
should make a list of everything she did not get that she needed in
order to make sure that she gets those needed items before the baby is
born. She should also have someone make a list of each gift
and who gave it so that she can later send a personal thank you note.
Shower Check List:
- Hold
the shower four to
six weeks before the due date
- Write
down the guest
list
- Set
the tone and size of the baby shower
- Create
baby shower party favors
- Set
the time and location, if it will not be held in your
residence.
