What Is dough Art?

BESIDES THE FACT THAT IT'S FUN AND EASY!

Dough art craft is made from a simple mix of flour, salt and water.    Therefore, it's called "salt dough."  There are many recipes that include those three ingredients and there are variations of that mix with other ingredients.   They can be oven baked or air-dried, which is my preferred method of hardening. 

Once the dough has been kneaded and refrigerated, it is ready for sculpting.   There is no limit to what can be made with the dough, from ornaments to gifts to home decor.  It is a quick and inexpensive means of creating children, community, and church projects that anyone can make. 

Besides the obvious Christmas ornaments, you can make home decor, flowers, jewelry,  gifts, dolls, holiday items.  There's really no limit if you let your imaginations come up with new ideas.  You can get new ideas from magazines, photographs, and paintings.   You can even use the salt dough to make beautiful hand prints of your children.  And the best use for dough art is using it to sculpt with your children.  Once you get creative, there's no limit to what you can do!  Like the project below.
